It is possible to purchase after-market modifications for rifles and pistols similar to what you're posted - although I have not seen any taken to that extreme.
A purple stock with a 'Hello Kitty' sticker and fore-grips in the same color may look lame but if it makes the kid happy to shoot a weapon tarted up like that - who am I to complain?

i guess the issue is really whether or not guns are ever really child-appropriate and whether they should be marketed as such. i suppose we disagree on this, although as long as you are being safe and keeping the ammo and guns locked separately when not in use, etc, it's a matter of personal choice best left up to you, the parent.

i suppose there's also the idea here that guns are masculine, and must be glamorized in order to be female appropriate.
it's a matter of personal choice best left up to you, the parent.
I have _no_ idea who you are, but I appreciate your broadminded approach.

Only in the mind of the image creator for purposes of *parody*. And it's a sexist characterization anyway. The three female AR-15 owners I know personally are just fine with basic black.

A child who is old enough to be left home alone is old enough to own and have access to a loaded firearm.
Believe me, if they are so irresponsible that they can't handle being around a simple, functional tool like a firearm, there is no reason to suppose that they are responsible enough to be without adult supervision.
