Durex Condom Marketing: Subtlely Linking Sex And Violence

These are subway turnstiles so, whether you like it or not, you have to smack your pelvis against the images to get into the subway. DJ Nelson at All Diva Media, from whence these images came, notes that at the bottom text reads "there are better things to hit" (which, I note, is a metaphor for violence):

And this image suggests that women would or should be willing to stretch their mouths until they crack and bleed in order to give a man with a big dick a blow job:

Thanks to Caroline H. for sending these!

Just when I think I can't be shocked anymore by anything here on soc images... these images come along.

Especially that last one. I am beyond HORRIFIED. I would have to say the violence here is NOT subtle at all.

How can they get away with ads like this? How is this OK?

Made me think of these voyeuristic ads: http://img451.imageshack.us/img451/3486/playboy0mt.jpg

(I have no background info on them though, so i can't confirm they're real. But they're still awful.)

We've got that second one up--it's definitely real.

love the site, but I have a question: is any public celebration of well-endowed men condemable? or only when the medium is an advertisement?

Umm...I always understood the last pictures as a reference to oral herpes, not to "big dicks." Still disturbing, either way.

ok girls calm down, it's a fake ad, the image comes from a burger king ad- does anyone check these out first ? or is it just instant indignation?

Just throwing it out there that "hit" is also a metaphor for "screw" or whatever term you want to use.
