Teens Trashing Ads

Check out this dedicated youtube channel that includes (as of today) 193 clips of young women trashing ads. It's super fun and an excellent opportunity to add voices of young people to your course. Instead of just analyzing ads yourself or asking your students to do it, you can use some of this clips. If you happen to have a less than diverse classroom, it might be especially useful to use the clips that are by people from those underrepresented groups.

Here is an introduction:

And for all of the clips, visit the 3iying website.

Le sigh, you have to take it one step farther and look at sales rate. It doesn't matter what they think about the ads, what matters is how they consume. If they keep buying the market will continue to deliver "flip" ads That is the determinant of marketer behavior.

I'm pretty sure businesses don't care what they think. The girl says that this generation of girls is different, this generation of girls has changed. Maybe SHE knows a lot of girls who think the way she does, but the current style of advertising works on enough women that businesses don't need to care what that girl and her friends think.
